I started Ghosts, Murders, and Mayhem Walking Tours in August of 2010 after earning my New York City Sightseeing Guide License. Originally I was going to offer a ghost tour, but after studying New York history, I discovered so many strange and important stories of mayhem, I decided to broaden our subject matter.
The reputable publisher of historical books, Arcadia Publishing, reached out to me to contribute a book to their Images of America Series. GHOSTS AND MURDERS OF MANHATTAN is available through Arcadia, Amazon, Barnes and Noble.
Although I’ve had some paranormal experiences in my life, the scariest time for me happened after I left my corporate dream job as a Director of Training and moved at age 39 Into the dorms with 18 year-olds at the Boston Conservatory. Three years later I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.F.A. in Musical Theater Performance. I continue to perform and enjoy writing including my blog Elise’s Ghosts, Murders, and Mayhem.
Popular tour guide, Meghan Sara Karre grew up in The Twilight Zone - Binghamton, NY, hometown of Rod Serling. After a chance viewing of West Side Story in 1997, she fell in love with New York City and believed that all she needed to be happy in life was a fire escape.
Meghan holds two degrees in theatre and has starred in community and off-off Broadway productions in the past. She has been performing tours with Ghosts, Murders and Mayhem Walking Tours since March 2011, combining her lifelong loves of mystery, storytelling, and New York City. She is tickled pink to tell the city's lesser known stories in the very place where they occurred. Meghan currently resides on the "Upper Upper" West Side in a walk-up with it's very own fire escape.
Meghan was bewildered by the misty form hovering over her left shoulder in this selfie in front of the relic from the haunted Sugar House Prison.
Catherine is originally from Connecticut and grew up singing and acting whenever she got the chance. Since moving to NYC in early 2013, she has performed on stage in and out of the city, as well as wrote and starred in a cheeky web series about the underwhelming New York dating scene. She loves telling stories, whether on stage or the streets of Greenwich Village, her favorite part of town.
Brad is so thrilled to be on the Ghosts Murders and Mayhem team! Brad has been acting and telling stories since he can remember. With a BFA in acting from Northern Kentucky University Brad has performed regionally with companies such as Orlando Shakespeare theater and Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire before moving to New York 3 years ago. Brad has always loved the storied history of this crazy city. Now he is excited to bring people on a historical adventure through one of the craziest neighborhoods:Hell's Kitchen, and there's nothing better then taking an audience on a journey.
